Hope in Times of Crisis- Posted on Monday, October 19, 2009
In times of crisis, we cannot continue to do the same things we do as in times of abundance. When we are confronted with a season of scarcity, we have to change our way of working and producing. One of the ways God has planned for this is through creative ideas. People who are faithful in bringing in their first fruits to the Lord and to honor Him with their money, have the right to expect to receive creative ideas from Him that will resolve their critical situation; this extends to the family, business, education, work, or any other area. For this to take place and for us to see this and not lose out on it, we must also go through a change in mentality and an uprooting of paradigms. We need to work in a different way because the times have changed.
The world has a paradigm regarding believers. It believes they are dumb people with no brains or aspirations. In fact, I myself used to think like that about Christians. Before I became one of them, I used to laugh at them, but that is no longer the case. God is raising a different generation. As I began to get involved and preach in the nations, I found the truth to be otherwise. In all the churches I have visited around the world, I have come upon several bright people in all areas of society. I found people in government, in business, and other people with brilliant minds. I have met Christian scientists, doctors philosophers, lawyers, writers, athletes, actors, and generals who were Christians. Others like them are presently receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I have seen Christian presidents, Christian senators, and great Christian businesspeople. Also, I have seen how many believers who were bound by a religiosity that did not allow them to pursue an education are now being set free from that manner of thinking and are preparing them-selves. There was a time when some churches would preach that universities were from the devil because they taught people not to believe in Jesus. Similarly, they would argue that Jesus was coming soon and, therefore, that it was not worth it to waste their time in studying, etcetera. I have seen a large part of God’s people come out of that mediocrity and seek to give Him the best. We Christians are an intelligent people!
